Penzance is a historic town with a harbour, some interesting old buildings and beautiful gardens. This is an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with dramatic cliffs, sandy beaches, tiny farms and wild countryside.

We can help you plan your free time, and there is lots to do - especially in summer. We are famous for our:

• beaches
• arts and crafts: lots of galleries and studios
• cliff paths: often accessible by bus
• industrial archeology: this was an important tin mining area in the 19th century
• Celtic monuments: ancient village sites, stone circles, standing stones and more
• the cliffside open-air Minack Theatre
• antique shops
• the picturesque town of St Ives, and the Tate Gallery
• interesting museums

If you like exercise, we have a new leisure centre with a swimming pool, or you could play tennis, hire a bike or go hiking or windsurfing.
